Strings Attached, the dynamic musical duo of Brett Alan and Angie Raynes, is a testament to the power of shared passion and harmonious collaboration. Hailing from Nebraska, these two singer-songwriters first crossed paths in 2011, joining forces in the Brett Alan Band. After several years of musical camaraderie, Brett and Angie felt a pull to explore their individual artistic voices more deeply. In 2019, they embarked on a new adventure, forming Strings Attached.
Driven by a desire to showcase their similar musical sensibilities and the unique blend of their vocals, Brett and Angie envisioned Strings Attached as a vehicle for expanding their creative horizons. They sought to break free from genre constraints, allowing their music to evolve organically and appeal to a diverse audience. This exploration has resulted in an eclectic mix of sounds, drawing from their musical roots while pushing the boundaries of what they can create together.
Their signature sound is built upon the foundation of unbreakable harmonies, a delicate interplay between guitar and keys, and an undeniable musical chemistry. Whether performing in the intimate setting of a local brewery or commanding the stage at a larger concert venue, their shows are always engaging and personal. Their sets feature a mix of well-loved covers from the 70's & 80's alongside carefully chosen original compositions, all woven together with their trademark harmonies and often humorous banter. This creates an intimate connection with the audience, making each performance a shared experience.
Describing themselves as "two musical souls on a bold quest to push the boundaries of musical experimentation."  Brett and Angie are constantly evolving their sound and exploring new musical territories. Strings Attached invites you to join them on their journey and experience the magic of their music for yourself.

Growing up in the windswept sandhills of Nebraska, Brett Alan was immersed in music
from a young age. At age nine, he began playing drums and guitar and soon joined his
father, who was singer-songwriter Larry Ray, on the road drumming for his band.
Traveling in a tour bus, they played county fairs across Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, South
Dakota, and North Dakota. He shared stages with legendary acts like Moe Bandy, Boxcar
Willie, and many others. These formative years of touring gave him a unique musical
education and honed his performing skills. The experiences also ignited his passion for
songwriting.  In the early 90s, thanks to his father’s connections, Brett’s demo landed in
the hands of a Nashville producer. Brett became a Nashville recording artist when he
recorded at Black Bird Studios in Nashville for Apollo Records. The recording session
went well and he was later offered a recording deal with Apollo. He ultimately declined
this offer to continue his medical career. Music remained his constant companion even
while practicing medicine, and he never stopped writing and fronting bands. He
released his second album in 2016. He found independent radio success with two of his
songs and achieved mainstream airplay with his song “Your My Favorite Song.”
Brett also formed The Brett Alan Band in 2009. He and his band would get to share his
own music while opening for acts like The Confederate Railroad, Black Hawk, Little
Texas, Kansas, Jefferson Airplane, Colt Ford, Cadillac Three and Clay Walker.  During his
time with The Brett Alan Band, he hired the talented keyboard player and singer Angie
Rayne’s.  Angie sang background vocals and lent her keyboard skills to a few of the
songs on Brett’s last album.  When The Brett Alan Band disbanded in 2019, Brett and
Angie formed Strings Attached to continue their musical journey.  They recently
released their first single, “The Ghost From Gainesville,” off the album they are currently
working on.

Born and raised in  a small Nebraska village called Trenton, Angie Raynes began playing music at a very young age, learning piano by ear from her mother and her relatives. Their style, heavily influenced by Honky Tonk piano, sparked a lifelong passion. At the age of 18, after receiving an art scholarship, Angie decided to pursue a degree in art and music education, and it was during this time that she joined her first band, a traditional blues ensemble. From there, she explored a variety of musical genre bands and vocal groups. In 2011, Angie was invited to join the Brett Alan Band, with whom she played until 2019, when they formed Strings Attached.
